The Blog at Johnhouston's, also known as Below the Fold...
This is Version 2.0 and a work in progress.
Here you'll find, in plain-spoken language; opinions (mine), flat-out facts and solutions as I see them. All in an easy to read format.
A Spade is a Spade here and no sugar is allowed nor used.
How about a mountain top in Montana or some beach front property in Key West. There's a new kid in town that can help just about anyone who happens to be seriously searching for a new place to call home.
The folks in Iraq, the folks that Belong in Iraq who play the game of soccer, Football to those not within the borders of the United States, have Proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt, the populous of Iraq CAN work together in harmony and celebrate together in harmony.
The New York Times is reporting (today:7/27/07) that G.W. Bush and company has made plans to sell American developed arms to the Saudi!
The very THOUGHT of such an arms deal... Scares the hell out of me!
Today (07/24/2007) in a televised speech by President George W. Bush at Charleston, South Carolina (Charleston Air Force Base) the President made yet another effort to defend his policies in Iraq and the Middle East; and has left me wondering again... Fuming again... Still. Frankly, from the information that's available I find it incredible that our troops can or are able to maintain any semblance of hope of actually seeing a "good end" in Iraq. In Spite of personal goodwill trips and appearances at military installations.
If he's convicted of this hideous B.S., Vick should be neutered with a very dull knife and no sedation.
Those of you who know me, know I am a big time dog lover. Animals all for that matter and cruelty passed off as "sport" is utterly barbaric, for the lack of a better word.
It's pretty plain to see that Iraq’s Kurds, Sunnis, and Shiites don't play well with each other so, let's treat them like little children and give each a corner to sit in... For time everlasting; with Baghdad as a "neutral zone".
I read somewhere (IraqSlogger.com I think) where Sen. Joseph Biden had proposed something along this line but, I could be wrong. Nevertheless, I've thought this action would be MUCH more viable from the get-go and frankly, I don't see it being any worse than what's in place now.
Wednesday, July 18, 2007, the Associated Press reported that President Bush created a new faction within our government named the Import Safety Working Group. Their goal... err, intended purpose is to guarantee the safety of food and other products shipped into the United States and to improve U.S. policing of those imports.
Hmmmmm. There's more people reading these blog pages than I thought and some of 'em sniff something more than what's showing. ![]()
From the "This struck me funny" department": Seems as if the good folks at the California State Fair have recently judged the mass produced (read... CHEAP) Chardonnay The Best: In the California State Fair Commercial Wine Competition and adorned the $2.00 bottle with a gleaming gold medal!
Remember this headline? "2 Border Patrol agents face 20 years in prison"
A major national news story from the Summer of 2006 and the whole affair stirred incredible emotion from all who took the time to read about the goings on. Generally an emotion of betrayal of the Border Patrol agents from those who are bent toward very stiff immagration law enforcement.
President Bush insisted that al Qaeda was not as strong now as they were prior to September 11,2001. Prove it George! Bring us the head of Osama on a Pike and stop being a pussy-footed politically correct warrior in Iraq.
I hate to sound as stubborn as a Missouri Mule but, I just don't see the current situation as "better" in Iraq or anywhere else for that matter. On all outward appearances al Qaeda seems to have grown and strengthened.
... And you Knew there was something different here. Something missing. Something just not right.
Yep, it's the absence of the ever present Google Ads, Yahoo ads and MSN ads... Advertisements in general! Now you see just how much web site real estate those advertisements take up on your screen.
The Associated Press is reporting that Turkey has amassed 140,000 troops near the northern Iraq border... A stone's throw from the only truly Bright Spot in Iraq: The Kurds.
The Kurds of northern Iraq have long been the only folks in that part of the world that truly understand and WANT a peaceful co-existence in their country. The other two factions in Iraq would do themselves proud to follow the Kurds' example!
I caught part of news story on my electric television about the Live Earth Global Concerts and the first thing that came to mind as I saw banks of lights and a myriad of electrically powered instruments... Just how "Green" are these things?
